The event brought together approximately 150 participants, including representatives from 46 Portuguese municipalities, a university, and a representative from the city of São Paulo (Brazil), reflecting the strong commitment of educating cities to the promotion of public policies focused on education, inclusion, and the sustainable development of territories.

Over three days, the Congress addressed the following key subthemes:

• Smart Territories: Analysis of current and emerging challenges in educating cities, focusing on humanization and inclusion in the era of smart territories.

• Heritage and Identity in Smart Cities: Discussion on how local identity and culture can serve as sources of knowledge in building smart cities, highlighting and valuing the unique characteristics of each city.

• Eco-Digital Economy and Sustainability: Exploration of how adopting digital technologies and platforms can generate economic, environmental, and social value in territories.

• Innovative, Inclusive, and Sustainable Practices in Smart Territories: Considering the city as an educational and training ecosystem that fosters conditions to stimulate new knowledge and innovation in times of rapid transformation.
