From 26 to 29 May 2026, Granollers will host the 18th International Congress of Educating Cities under the theme: “Education and culture in the city: community, critical thinking and creativity”

The call for good practices is open until 9 October 2025. Proposals must align with the main theme and fall under one of the three thematic axes:

• City / Community: This axis focuses on building a shared sense of “us” in increasingly diverse urban settings. Initiatives promoting intercultural dialogue, social cohesion, and the right to the city are encouraged, recognizing diversity as both a source of enrichment and a collective challenge.
• Critical Citizenship: In the face of disinformation, polarization, and oversimplified narratives, this axis emphasizes the formation of individuals capable of autonomous and responsible thinking. Actions that promote active participation, critical thinking, and local democracy are sought.
• Creative Citizenship: This axis advocates for creativity as an essential tool for addressing current and future challenges. Educational, cultural, and technological projects that foster citizen innovation and social capital are encouraged, recognizing the transformative potential of creativity accessible to all.

Submissions may be made in any of the five official languages: Spanish, French, English, Portuguese, or Catalan.

Each city may submit a maximum of three experiences, provided they are supported and endorsed by the local government. Proposals submitted by other institutions, organizations, or associations will also be considered.

There are three types of presentation formats: Workshops, Direct Dialogue, and Digital Poster.
