Partnership agreement Mexican Network – CIPDH (UNESCO)

The signature of the partnership agreement between the Mexican Network and the International Center for the Promotion of Human Rights of the UNESCO took place on 30 July.

The Mayor of León-Guanajuato, Mr. Héctor López Santillana, representing the Mexican Network of Educating Cities, signed an agreement with the International Center for the Promotion of Human Rights (UNESCO), represented by its Director, Ms. Patricia Tappata The goal of the agreement is to offer human rights training to the political and technical delegate of the 12 Educating Cities in Mexico. This training aims at adding value to local policies using a human rights approach and to acknowledge the role of local governments to warrant peace, living together and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. The IAEC General Secretary, the IAEC Delegation for Latin America, the Director for UNESCO- Mexico, the Human Rights Ombudsman in Guanajuato State and several Leon City Council authorities attended the event.
