The Executive Committee – the governing and management body of the IAEC – met to make progress on the Association’s main areas of work. Developments relating to International Day of the Educating City were discussed, including the revision of the declaration. The Secretariat presented various items of interest, including new member registrations, the status of the 2026 Educating Cities Award, the development of a project evaluation tool, and the revamping of the institutional website.

One of the main points of the meeting was to follow up on the organisation of the 18th International Congress, to be held in Granollers in 2026. The progress of the preparations, the proposed programme and confirmed speakers, and the various local projects underway were shared.

For their part, the different territorial networks reported on their activities and the funds they will use. Finally, the issue of creating international thematic networks was addressed. This topic was well received by the Committee, although the logistical and coordination challenges involved in a project of this magnitude were also discussed.
