In addition to the mayor of Viladecans, Olga Morales Segura, the opening of the 17th Meeting of the State Network of Educating Cities (RECE) was attended by the Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría; the Minister of Education of the Government of Catalonia, Esther Niubó; the President of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Lluïsa Moret; and the Secretary General of AICE, Marina Canals.

The conferences provided space to reflect on the central theme of the meeting and its three key pillars: leadership of municipal networks, disruptive education, and 360-degree evaluation. Among the speakers were: Aina Tarabini, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; Eduard Vallory, Director of BIST (Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology) and President of CATESCO; Guillermo Bautista, PhD in Pedagogy and Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the Open University of Catalonia-UOC; and Hungria Panader, Director of the Ferrer i Guàrdia Foundation.

The exchange of experiences between cities played a prominent role in the program. A total of 66 experiences from 36 municipalities were presented in various formats: oral, agora, or poster.

The General Assembly concluded the event with the election of the new Monitoring Committee, the approval of three thematic networks, and the selection of Málaga as the coordinating city for the 2025–2027 period.
