“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (Preamble to the Constitution of World Health Organization).

According to the Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals it is necessary to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

For its part, the educating city must guarantee the quality of life for all its inhabitants, promoting health education and the participation of all its inhabitants in the best practices of sustainable development. (Principle 11 of the Charter of Educating Cities).
