© Valdoria (wikimedia commons) Valdepeñas is a municipality of 32.000 inhabitants of the Spanish province of Ciudad Real, Region of Castile-La-Mancha. The city is near the river Jabalón. As a consequence Valdepeñas is situated over a plain dominated by some small and isolated crags. Valdepeñas is internationally known for its wines which have its own Protected Designation of origin, DO Valdepeñas. The city is also known for its production of Manchego sheep cheese.
