Toledo was capital of the Visigothic Spain since 6th century until the Arabic arrival. Toledo is known as the City of Three Cultures because during centuries within the city coexisted Jews, Muslims and Christians. UNESCO declared the city World Heritage Site in 1986. The renowned painter Doménikos Theotokópoulos El Greco (1541-1614) lived in Toledo for decades.
