Salamanca

Located in western Spain, the city is the capital of the Salamanca province in the autonomous community of Castile and León. Its Old City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. The University of Salamanca, founded in 1218, attracts thousands of international students and it’s one of the leading places to learn Spanish. The university and tourism are a primary source of income in the city. It is on the Via de la Plata path of the Camino de Santiago.
