The city has two main centres: the old city, with remains of civilization of 2.000 years ago and hub of a rich farming zone, and the coastal village of Puerto de Sagunto. The economy of the city is based on the service sector. As regards heritage, it is worth mentioning that the old centre of Sagunto has a Roman Theatre and a castle with remains of the different civilizations of the city (Iberian, Romans, Visigoths, Arabs).
