Palma del Río

© José Ángel Castillo (Flickr) City of the Andalusian province of Cordoba (South of Spain). Palma del Rio is the rural capital of the meadows of the river Guadalquivir. The period of Muslim presence (8th-13th centuries), during which new fruit trees were introduced and the use water resources was improved, is key to understand the development of the farming tradition of the city. Palma del Río has an old historic centre and two modern points: El Calonge and the Mohíno.
