Inland city of North-eastern Spain located at the right bank of the Ebro River. The city is Capital of the region of La Rioja and its main economic, cultural and services hub. The city is the main production and trade centre of the La Rioja Protected Denomination Wine and has an important farm market. It has also a significant metal, machinery and textile industry. The city, which was founded by the Romans, is a very well connected site and is part of the Road to Santiago.
