Córdoba is the capital of the homonymous province and the second most populous in Argentina. It is known as "La Docta" for its university population and for being the headquarters of the first university in the country, the cradle of Doctors, great personalities and poets. It is also known as "Córdoba de las Campanas". It is a modern city that permanently promotes and preserves its rich cultural and historical heritage, for which it was designated the American Capital of Culture in 2006. It is also an important cultural, economic, educational and recreational center of the country.
