© decar66 (Flickr) Hinterland city of the province of Valencia (Eastern Spain) located in the Valley of Albaida at the bankside of the river Clariano and surrounded by croplands. The city is structured in 2 points: the old center, the “Vila” a National Historic and Artistic site build over a terrain of huge inclination, and the modern neighbourhoods. The city has a rich industrial heritage which attests the historica importance of the textile sector in Ontinyent. This sector has still some importance in the economic activity of the city.
