Santiago de Compostela, known around the world as Santiago, is the capital of the region of Galice, North-western Spain. The city is the final destination of various pilgrimage routes known has the Way of Saint James. UNESCO declared the city World Heritage Site in 1985 because of its architecture. Services have a big impact in the economy of the city. The city has also a renowned university: the University of Santiago which with 500 years is one of the oldest in Europe.
