Viseu

It extends over a surface of 507,10 km² in a tableland surrounded by several mountain chains and crossed by three rivers. Its main economic activity is the services sector. Viseu is also the main wine distribution center of the Dão region. The City has a millennial history and, for example, was the cradle of Viriatus, leader of the Portuguese resistance against the occupation of the Roman Empire. It has also an important patrimonial heritage, among which stands out its medieval downtown, its cathedral and the museum to one of the pictoric masters of the Portuguese Renaissance, Vasco Fernandes.
