Paços de Ferreira

© J.P.Ribeiro (Wikimedia commons) City of the North Portuguese region placed over the high plateau of Chã de Ferreira and at the bankside of the river Ferreira. The city is nationally renowned as the “Capital of furniture” as it is main Portuguese hub of production of furniture and one of the most important in Europe. Other significant economic sectors of the city are textile and metal industries and food processing. Among its heritage we can outline the Romanesque Monastery of Ferreira, which was declared National Monument in 1928.
