The city, an educational space in the new Millennium
The 6th International Congress took place in Lisbon (Portugal) in November 21-24 2000. Representatives from 213 cities of 46 countries participated in the Congress.
The Thematic axes which oriented the plenary sessions and the workshops of the congress were:
- How people appropriate space in the city: planning and practices.
- Memory and identity of the city.
- Local development, solidarity and interdependencies.
- Diversity as an educational resource for the city and the school: new models for participation and citizenship.
- Education, training, employment and leisure: the strategic role of the city.
