© Juanedc (Flickr) Placed at the shore of the Cantabrian Sea, in a beautiful bay, Donostia-San Sebastián has 186.091 inhabitants and a surface of 60,89 km². Beyond being the Capital of the Basque Province of Guipuzcoa, the city, known as the Pearl of the Cantabrian Sea, is an important touristic and cultural centre. Every year hosts an International Festival of Cinema and a Jazz Festival. In 2016, the city will be European Capital together with the Polish city of Wroclaw.
